Let Me Introduce Myself…

Hi!  Welcome and thank you for stopping by and visiting my Scentsy website, AboutTheScent.com.  My name is Leslie Long and I am an Independent Scentsy Director.

Have you ever wondered if there’s more to life or if there is a way to improve your happiness and lifestyle?  That was me back in 2009.  Let me explain my story…

I have been married to my wonderful husband, David, since May 11th, 1991.  We are both Navy veterans.  In 1996, I decided to retire from the Navy and hang up my uniform to become a stay at home Mom and raise our four wonderful children; Janice, Taylor, David Jr., and Evan.

As the year’s passed, we continued to move from city to city, duty station to duty station, country to country, as David continued his Navy career.  Life was wonderful and we were truly blessed as we watched our kids grow and experience new adventures and different cultures.

In the summer of 2009, David retired from the U.S. Navy after a 28-year military career and we settled down in Virginia Beach, VA.

Starting a new chapter in our lives, in August 2009, my whole life changed – Scentsy found me!  I was visiting my sister-in-law for the weekend when she introduced me to Scentsy and their wonderful company.  As we talked I was immediately sold on the concept of the product, the business plan and the money potential – I became hooked.

Continuing to raise our children, through Scentsy I realized I could be my own boss, make my own hours and build my own business.  It gave me the freedom to continue to love and care for my children and husband, make extra money to contribute to our families needs, and meet new people along the way.  It was this eye opening “Aha” experience that turned me into an Entrepreneur!  Just as important, I’m having fun!

Starting my Scentsy business was one of the best decisions I ever made.  I love the people I have met through Scentsy – a tremendous community and wonderful customers.  I truly believe in all our products and love sharing them with others.  My business has flourished over the years in many ways; new friends, financial independence, freedom and flexibility, and wonderful experiences.  And, I continue to learn more each and every day.

Our lives changed drastically in 2009, when David retired from the military and I started my Scentsy journey.  Along this journey we’ve been extremely fortunate; we live a wonderful life and have remarkable, successful  children and Scentsy is a big contributor to our families success.

• Our oldest daughter Janice is married to our wonderful son-in-law Drew and live on Boston, MA., where Drew is stationed in the Coast Guard.  They’ve provided us with two beautiful grand daughters, Caroline Grace and Amelia Catherine.
• Taylor graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2016, and lives in Virginia Beach, VA.  She currently works in Norfolk, VA.
• David Jr. joined the U.S. Army in 2015 and pursued a career in the Pharmaceutical industry.  He is stationed at Fort Stewart in Georgia and is engaged to our future daughter-in-law, Eden.  Dave and Eden will be married in August 2019.
• Evan graduates from the Culinary Institute of America (New York) in September 2018, and is moving to New York City where he will be working for the Michelin Star restaurant, Gramercy Tavern.

I am so grateful for my life.  I’m healthy, I have a wonderful family, and I’m free!  I’ve worked my business hard over the years, but I have something that most people don’t have… complete time freedom.  I love what I do more than anything and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.  I’ve been able to build and train my team of superstars, win all expense paid vacations and meet new friends along my amazing journey.
